Happy Birthday Hunter & Michelle!

This is my first Birthday blog & it's a very special one! My first grandson, born August 2, 2002, came home from the Hospital on my first child's (Michelle) birthday, August 4th! You are both very special to me & I hope you have many, many more Birthdays to come.

Fast forward to 2008

Yep, here they all are, the loves of my life!! Now that I have finally begun this "blogging thing" I plan to share a lot more about the many happenings that include me & these awesome individuals that I call FAMILY. Stay tuned.....

More than a half Century ago...

OK, so this is really a long time ago but I thought it would be fun to begin at the beginning. It was unusual to see me dressed up and polished like this since playing in the dirt or wading in the nearby creek was more my speed. I still don't like to "dress up" & feel more at home when I'm barefoot, outside & eating home grown tomatoes. I was born in a little town in West Virginia & even though I would never want to go back there to live, I cherish the beauty that surrounded me in the form of rolling hillsides, mountains, lakes & creeks & the wonderful changes that each season brought. I am now living in North Georgia & find many similarities in the beauty that is here. I hope to one day take my Grandchildren back to where I grew up but only the surroundings are left now since my childhood home was destroyed from the remnants of hurricane Ivan in 2004. It is really true that "home is where the heart is" & I can truly say that I have all I need right here in Georgia even though part of my heart will be in South Carolina with my son & his family.

DON'T HAVE A HEART ATTACH!!

I know it has been more than a year since I have posted anything but hopefully in the very near future I will make some additions. There are just too many awesome things, events & pictures in my life not to share them.

Do you see what I see...

Inspired by the Christmas song (Do you see what I see), I FINALLY decided to add to my Blog! This is such a special time of year, celebrating the birth of the Christ Child, the upcoming births of Sophia & "baby Coleman" & remembering the wonder of the births of Michelle & Jamie. I am taking this opportunity to be thankful for & ponder "what I see" around me. I see Brent, lovingly, care for the needs of a sick wife & 3 children. I see Amy, lovingly, care for a husband with a cough & fix him special meals. I see Michelle, no matter how sick she is, take time to listen, comfort, encourage & support 3 growing miracles. I see Jamie creating, with perfection, a baby nursery fit for a princess while awaiting a "miracle" of their own. I see Tatum, Sydney & Hunter eagerly anticipating Christmas joy but still aware of the "reason for the season". I see people at work tending to the needs of sick, poor, lonely & forgotten people & still managing to have a smile & hug for anyone who needs it. Is it any wonder that I feel BLESSED & thankful for a very special family & a loving God.
...........Merry Christmas & a Blessed New Year to all!
